It would surprise allot of people to know that I believe that the hand of God is firmly in our lives.
I have always stood apart and believed that I am in control, I am aware and see the things operating around me. I plan, I prepare, I control.
I cannot now deny nor turn away from how this has all come to pass.
With all that has happened in such a short period of time.
To be where we are now, today, full of such joy and love.
Yes, we still have things to worked out.
Issues to be resolved.
The core still is our Love for one another.
The Love that has risen above all hurt.
My heart is brimming with feelings.
Our miracle within you is a reflection of Gods love for us.
It is a sign of the direction laid out before us.
To be together, to be a family.
The road to here has been full of twists and turns.
Those turns have brought me to the other side of hurt.
The other side of selfishness.
My own way of seeing things is re-focused.
I can see what lays before us.
Not of my doing, nor my control.
I release this journey of ours the Gods will.
My heart open, my eyes wide and my ears ready.
For you are going to be a fantastic mother.
Bringing to a life the Love that you have.
I am supported and strengthened by God to

Come on ... Face it ! There is no one better qualified to be the next president. Make him be the next one, he should have to clean up his own mess. Whoever follows this guy has a tough road ahead. All that he has done, all that we have let him do. We will be 20 years recovering, if we can. I am thinking that the next president is just taking one for the team. A cleaner. Joost - My 1st Impression

I got my invitation to Joost Friday morning at work. During lunch, I shot home to download and install. ( yes, I was a little excited)
I am located right in the center of Georgia, a small town. ( We are getting our 1st Starbucks next month ) Installed with no trouble at all. It is installed on my Sony Vaio Desktop, 3 ghz, 1 gig of ram, running Win XP. I have a cable modem (ISP: COX) kicking the internet in at 7k.
My purpose is to actually "use" Joost. I have a cable modem, but no cable TV ! We get TV from our rabbit ears, 6 channels. We do not watch much TV, just the news and Survivor. Mostly PBS when we do sit in front of the glowing box. We spend allot of time doing other things...
My wife took little interest, ho hum. (She was not impressed by Ubuntu either) As long as she can surf, she's happy.
Overall, Very Impressive.
The navigation is intuitive, easy to pick up. A great channel selection. I enjoy documentaries and there are plenty to choose from.
I spent an hour watching a deep sea diving doc. Picture was perfect, sound was great. There was no lags or jumps.
There are commercials, short and sweet. A total of 3 during an hour. There are some 'brought to you by' 10 sec screens before music vids.
My wife watched 'Rehearsals' for a good while. Bands jamming and playing in the studio. Actually had to search and download a band, "Jupiter Rising". So, you get exposure to a wide scope of global programing.
There is a lot of "on demand" programming. Indi movies and short comedy or sports programs.
I found I could still use the computer to surf while Joost played. Surfing, checking email ect with no problems or annoyances.
Built in are some widgets, a chat box to talk to other viewers watching the same program. An RSS reader, which I have not set up yet.
The program guide is a little busy. Probably because you are expecting something like a time and channel scroll. Took just a short time to get accustomed to it and now it is no trouble.
As I went to bed, I selected "Comedy Centrals" channel and just let it play while I slept. Got up, still running, no hangs during the night.
In closing, Joost delivered to my end of the swamp, a great product, easy to use and with content I enjoyed.

Spent Monday catching up on the housework left undone from the weekend. The weekend...time to do nothing, to just skip it, to put things off. Well, monday comes around and the week starts off pretty busy. I am still full from our mini-Thanksgiving sunday. The works... with left overs to take home. Bugs live in peoples hair!
I have decided to move my work-out to earlier in the morning to get used to doing it before work..which is 2 weeks away ! Amber is gonna cut the grass... update coming. If you start to hear the news story about the woman who cut her friends baby out with scisssor... run away run away !! The most horrible thing I have heard in a while. I am now trading VHS to DVD work for coffee..pretty good deal, I think.

A proud day today for me. Amber has spent the past year juggling work, school and all the other things in our lives. She graduates tonight from MA. At first it seemed a big undertaking... lots of studying, tests...new people to meet, scary needles. But she did super.....I am very proud. Now that school is finished we have more time to spend together, more things we can do. It was well worth it.

Day of the sore and swollen

This is the day after...

The OAR beat me down ! This being my 1st adventure race you would have thought I would be better prepared. Well, with age comes a sort of cockiness that you have been there done that...Which I have.... now I pay the price for that attitude. The race thankfully was at night, although that presented it's own set of problems, I could not imagine how I would have handled the heat of mid-day. I fought dehydration the whole time it seemed. I got behind and could not catch up on fluids. I feel bad for my brother, I think I drank all his water at one point. Now, the day after I am certainly sore, and swollen . Kinda like a dead body, a day into death,,,,

1. Get and stay out of your comfort zone. I believe that not much happens of any significance when we're in our comfort zone. I hear people say, "But I'm concerned about security." My response to that is simple: "Security is for cadavers."

2. Never give up. Almost nothing works the first time it's attempted. Just because what you're doing does not seem to be working, doesn't mean it won't work. It just means that it might not work the way you're doing it. If it was easy, everyone would be doing it, and you wouldn't have an opportunity.

3. When you're ready to quit, you're closer than you think. There's an old Chinese saying that I just love, and I believe it is so true. It goes like this: "The temptation to quit will be greatest just before you are about to succeed."

4. With regard to whatever worries you, not only accept the worst thing that could happen, but make it a point to quantify what the worst thing could be. Very seldom will the worst consequence be anywhere near as bad as a cloud of "undefined consequences." My father would tell me early on, when I was struggling and losing my shirt trying to get Parsons Technology going, "Well, Robert, if it doesn't work, they can't eat you."

5. Focus on what you want to have happen. Remember that old saying, "As you think, so shall you be."

6. Take things a day at a time. No matter how difficult your situation is, you can get through it if you don't look too far into the future, and focus on the present moment. You can get through anything one day at a time.

7. Always be moving forward. Never stop investing. Never stop improving. Never stop doing something new. The moment you stop improving your organization, it starts to die. Make it your goal to be better each and every day, in some small way. Remember the Japanese concept of Kaizen. Small daily improvements eventually result in huge advantages.

8. Be quick to decide. Remember what General George S. Patton said: "A good plan violently executed today is far and away better than a perfect plan tomorrow."

9. Measure everything of significance. I swear this is true. Anything that is measured and watched, improves.

10. Anything that is not managed will deteriorate. If you want to uncover problems you don't know about, take a few moments and look closely at the areas you haven't examined for a while. I guarantee you problems will be there.

11. Pay attention to your competitors, but pay more attention to what you're doing. When you look at your competitors, remember that everything looks perfect at a distance. Even the planet Earth, if you get far enough into space, looks like a peaceful place.

12. Never let anybody push you around. In our society, with our laws and even playing field, you have just as much right to what you're doing as anyone else, provided that what you're doing is legal.

13. Never expect life to be fair. Life isn't fair. You make your own breaks. You'll be doing good if the only meaning fair has to you, is something that you pay when you get on a bus (i.e., fare).

14. Solve your own problems. You'll find that by coming up with your own solutions, you'll develop a competitive edge. Masura Ibuka, the co-founder of SONY, said it best: "You never succeed in technology, business, or anything by following the others." There's also an old Asian saying that I remind myself of frequently. It goes like this: "A wise man keeps his own counsel."

15. Don't take yourself too seriously. Lighten up. Often, at least half of what we accomplish is due to luck. None of us are in control as much as we like to think we are.

16. There's always a reason to smile. Find it. After all, you're really lucky just to be alive. Life is short. More and more, I agree with my little brother. He always reminds me: "We're not here for a long time; we're here for a good time."

Took the canoe from Dames Ferry to Holly Grove and back. 5 hours round trip. You know your in GA when it's 80 at 6 am. Good run through for the upcoming race.
Meet the stumps close to Holly Grove. That is gonna be a surprise for some around 3 am during the race.

All of us were worried and downright scared as out mother went into the hospital for chest pain. Judy White, spent 4 days in 2 different hospitals getting angioplasty.
We stayed with her in shifts, 24 hours a day during her stay. This is not the way to quit smoking, but she has. Aside from some bleeding from the small insision sites she did just fine and should be much better now. Time for me to quit smoking too, if I want to keep Amber from suffering thru my demise.

Our 8 mile recon of the lake proved very valuable. We learned our craft was sturdy, a little beat up, but will do just fine. The lake is pretty big when you are paddling a canoe. Considering the upcoming race will be at night, the lake will be huge !
The power plant will be a great nav tool, those stacks will be lit up at night. The water is great, mostly clear and no sign of gators, some pretty good sized fish though. We both had some soreness afterwords, but nothing major.

Headed to Lake Juliette early today with my Bro. Need to scout out the area for the upcoming adventure race. We will be testing out the canoe and doing some open water navigation. Temps are supposed to reach near 100 so an early start is a good idea.

52 days and counting...... the Ocmulgee Adventure Race, or OAR is suddenly getting close. At least it seems that way when much still needs to be done in preparation. I have got off and running, gathering the gear needed. Going down the gear list, I was very pleased to already have a survival mirror and water purification tablets. Now, the real adventure begins.... how to carry it all and my big *ss over the river and thru the woods to grandmother's house in the middle of the night.
Working we my Bro will be fun, probably aggravating and frustrating too. But when it comes down to it, I could not trust nor count on no other. So, I am sure I will be a pain in my own way.
At least I can put that " ARMY TRAINING, SIR ! " to good use. I have at least gotten lost in the dark, in the woods more times than most people. That experience will help. I have added a boat horn to list......

Can you believe I had never really looked at my website on "other" computer's ?? Well, it was an eyeopening event. IT LOOKED LIKE CRAP. Today I start my new job ! Working for Reaves Software in Macon. A daily 30 min drive. I will start out learning their software. (which is for small car dealers) It's like a DMS, but on the low end, better for Buy-Here Pay-Here lots. Then I will work on some Internet applications, getting ready to roll out websites for dealerships across the software platform. Then, I will be doing a bit of travling, showing off the software. There is aLot of work to do to get it up and running. But, we gotta start small and build it slowly.. I am not to keen on the flying part... I absolutley hate to fly..YIKES ! But I do need the job that I enjoy and can hopfully pay our bills. I am going to really miss being around the house. I have gotten used to seeing my pretty girl all day long and like it. Now I will not be able to and that makes me a little sad. I love being with Amber, mabey I could take her to work ??! Probably not huh? I should be looking for something that we can do together. What kind of job would that be? I think it would have to be a small business of some sort.
But, work I must, and this is a great opportunity with great people.

Eating a meal is an "individual" experience. In other words, eating is something you do yourself. We see it as 'just us', even at a family table or restaurant. We see the food as 'individual" too. It was prepared just for us, just for that one experience. With these blinders on, we fail to realize that there are millions of meals going on. That shrimp you are eating was not caught just for you by happy Mr. Fisherman Joe. It is part of a great chain on people, hands, machines... To pull it out of some shit vat in Thailand and present it to you on a plate with a smile.

Done deal...Got myself a new job ! (the crowd goes wild )
Passed my urinalisis and a background check. Now starting my third day and my very 1st Monday.
PLENTY to do. Almost too much. This store is a little disorganized, kind limping along. The GM is new, so he has some changes he wants to make. You just cannot not change things too fast in the car biness. A dealership is like a juggernaut, only make small corrections in course.
Of course I have to set up an office, get coffee started, files and folders. Oh and learn new software too. I have new passwords to keep up with. I have 2 pages of things to do. At least it is web based so I can work from home.
I just got started, now telling what the week will bring.

Day before my 1st Day

Tomorrow I have my 1st interview. I am pretty pumped about it. It is for a brand new Hyundai dealership here in town. It will not open until June, over 2 months away. Of course I stopped in to apply and the person was out to lunch. So, I left the info packet with my resume, skill summary, examples of my work and a CD with video on it for him.
I got a call from him and he was "very impressed". (his words) Eager to meet with me tomorrow at 11:30, I was told to expect the meeting to run over an hour.
A new dealership is right up my alley. A lot of planning, preparation and coordination has to take place. Lots of ideas already. I am now just taking a break from "cramming" info on Hyundai. I will be up late getting my talking points ready so I do not look like an idiot. A great opportunity ! WISH ME LUCK!

Well..sadly A has had a death in the family. She has gone to the funeral and I am here with the animals. A good thing though, she is going with her father in support of him.

Lessons that tell me just how good I have it and how good a partner and wife I have. That nothing is more valuable, more precious. (my precious, my pretty)

RULE 1 : DO NOT LEAVE THE HOUSE (unless to go to work)
RULE 2 : HAVE NO ACCESS TO ANY MONEY
RULE 3 : PLAN ACTIVITES IN ADVANCE (busy work)
RULE 4 : TAKE DRUGS (ambien or resteral, valium (best), atavan,narcotics would be ok..but too hard to get or some type of opiate.

These rules are above the ones I follow everyday. These rules are my saftey net. A knows about these rules and knows why I need them. She does not go down the list or ask me how I am doing with them..after all these are my rules...not her's.

One thing that has troubled me to no end is how in the effin world do sooo many obvious in-breds get moved up in the automobile industry. Well... I have it solved !
You see it's all in the physiology of it. Who ever is the boss now, does not want to be out done..After all..They are an idiot... (and at one time.. recognized by someone as such) But an idiot with authority..So the big idiot pulls in lesser idiots underneath them in an effort to keep control of their position. Well, these lesser idiots do just fine...As it is a well trained monkey can sell cars...So the big idiot keeps on along, no one to challenge his stupidity, because EVERYONE they choose to surround themselves with is a dumbass. Works perfect, the dumbasses are trained and get the experience that they need.. The big idiot gets canned eventually for something stupid like drunk driving or sniffing glue and one of his idiots moves on up the ladder.... And so it goes...The cycle..A cycle of idiot prosperity...Is there a union I wonder ???

A song, I know... Just kinda marking time to make up my mind about another job. Things at work are well... pretty crappy. I just like to be plain and simple... say what you mean, mean what you say kinda things.... my situation now is no where near that. All unspoken, passive aggressive and down right subversion.
This happens at any job when there is a major change like the one we have been through. Everyone struggles to keep and identify their place and maybe claim a little more.
Human nature these days is in a pretty poor state. My eyes are on the front of my head. I am surrounded by cattle, by cows. Full of their on shit. Standing knee deep in it.

After the Parade on Cherry Street the pace really picked up, which is what I like right?? It was almost like a wave coming to shore, I could see it coming...I tried to prepare....And away you go, ready or not.
Which brought me to Now, two weeks later. Tired, battered and somewhat frayed. And, vowing to plan better, to communicate more and to ask for help. In fact, to demand help.
The Mulberry street festival. A long hot day to remember. 200 artist set up in downtown Macon. Streets blocked, I had to get 7 Ford cars and trucks and 2 Panoz Esperante's in a safe place within the festival. First ,I had to wash them all, like it would do any good with the pollen erupting. Then, because all the artist were setting up there own areas, pre-positioned the vehicles near the area where I wanted to set up my display. Leaving them.(except the Esperante's of Course) Then I packed up all my gear, the water , the give-aways, the tent ect and all the little things you think you might need.
I started the day early, arriving at 6:30 am to arrange the cars without having to worry about too many people getting in the way. The I shot over and got the Esperant's out of the show room and ready to go. Amber met me at the dealership earlier than I expected and I was so grateful to get a head start on my time line. I do not think that Amber understands how much I value her help. Further, she does not realize that I just do not ask "anybody" for help. That I have to trust them and know that they will do a good job. Most people will do a good job, to any other person. But, I am sort of a freak and expect of myself and others a great job. I get let down a lot and it is my own fault, for I expect to much from those around me. They are not freaks like me. I have learned that Amber does a great job and I can let go and allow her to help. Sounds crazy huh?? "Allowing" someone to help. But, that's the way I am. I would rather do it myself, overburden my life with details that others could do if I would let them.
Back to the festival. A lot of people, a long, warm day. We got home at 7pm. More to come !

Well, made it thru the weekend pretty well. Without the help and support of Amber and the rest of my family I would not get things done. That prob. means I do way too much, right ? LOL. Seriously, Amber puts up with alot from me and my job. Or better, with me wanting to do a good job, a better job, the best job I can. I do over extend myself. This in turn ripples out to Amber.
The parade went well. I talked to ALOT of people. I even gave a walk around demonstration to Kathy Cox, Sec. of State. My mouth was sooo dry and I had given away all my water to boot. My brother came along to help. He brought his daughter Cassidy Blue and his girlfriend Jill.
I am getting excitied as we get closer to our move. There is just something about living in a house -vs- an appartment. A good feeling, like more security, or like it is a real home. Not a big house, but we like the location, and it has hard wood floors. A kitchen that Amber can make her own. A space for my home office and all my projects. There will be no TV in the bedroom and we are cutting off the cable. Kinda unplugging from the evil eye and plugging into one another. I know it will give us more time to spend together. Not just zoning with the tube.
Good things are happening, all around us.
I was interviewed for an article in a Ford publication. It will be about the processes I use to manage the Internet dept. I had to send in a picture too.

Amber and I have now been married a whole year. I think it is the "paper" one, to me it's Golden. We have been living together for over 4 years now. Only a year as my wife but a lot longer as my friend, my savior, my help-mate, my lover.
Where would I be without her?? Not in a good place I am very sure.
A year that has passed do quickly, a such pace, a blur. A smiling happy blur!
Many more I am going to give her.

Here we go ..one more again. Finished up my ad for the Tour de GA. Should be good exposure thru out the state. I am just constently behind it seems. Or mabey I just take on to many things...LOL !
I am starting some light video production for our sponsership of the weather breaks ( www. 13wmaz.com), it is a challange. It will be great for us to have the control to change spots "in-house" and to update them without going thru an agency.
This weekend is pretty full. I have got my neices bithday to attend, I will be driving the President of the City Council in the Cherry Blossom Parade, It's my wedding anniversery to boot. Sunday is the Sebring race on the Speed Channel ( http://www.americanlemans.com ) I will not be watching the whole 12 hrs. AND...we are moving in less than 2 weeks and I need to do some major packing. I also have a brochure to produce for the Downtown Council of Macon, Hope to have the 1st scrub by Monday.
Last weekend was the "Macon Thunder", a part of the Cherry Bloosm Festival here in Macon (http://cherryblossom.com ). I took 11 cars to show along the new riverwalk.. Set up a tent, with give-aways like a TV and posters even coloring books. A great crowd, lots of people to talk to. Amber and my neice Sara went along to help. It was a long tiring day though, 8am till 9 pm. We were tired and sore on Sunday.
